At the end of December, we went to a local tea shop and cafe with our little family, my side of the family, and my grandma. We went for High Tea, and it was so much fun. We got to have cute little sandwiches cut into different shapes. They had all sorts of little finger foods, but the best part was the scones served with lemon curd. They were to die for. Oh, my goodness. So good. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.
I have always been a tea drinker. My mom made tea for me in high school when I did homework – specifically, Tension Tamer by Celestial Teas. At my grandparent’s house on my dad’s side, I would have a cup of tea, usually peppermint, and all the girls would sit enjoying a cup of tea. As I have gotten older, I usually have a cup of tea at night after we put Quinn to bed. I usually do Tazo’s chamomile or Tension Tamer.
Jordan has never liked tea – I don’t like mine with any sweetener or milk, so it can sometimes taste bitter. I also don’t ever consume any caffeine. All the teas I drink are herbal. Jordan got a Blueberry Cobbler tea when we went to the cafe and tea room. It was very sweet, and he even added honey to it. It was way too sweet for me. I like my tea straight. Since going to the tea room, we have gotten even more into tea. We purchased some things to make our tea-making easier and quicker.
Here is my gift list for the tea lover:
Teapot. We have a separate teapot for each of us. That way, each of us can have whatever tea we want.
Tea Strainer. You need a tea strainer if you have loose-leaf tea in your teapot. You definitely don’t want floaters!
I use my cute little duck infuser if I don’t want to have a whole pot of tea. I love this strainer. It floats the entire time I’m drinking my tea.
Loose Leaf Tea Containers. These little black containers are perfect for keeping loose-leaf tea in. We even labeled them with the name of the tea and all the ingredients used in the tea.
Electric Tea Kettle. We always used a kettle on our gas stove, but it took a while to get to a boil. We still have a kettle in case there is ever a power outage. This electric kettle heats up so fast that we can have tea in as little as 10 minutes. We love our new kettle and can start it from our phones. I have never used this feature, but I’m sure it will come in handy one day.
Loose Leaf Tea Spoon. Instead of using a teaspoon from your baking drawer. Get a “perfect cup of tea spoon.” This is such a cute spoon and perfect to give as a gift.
Happy Tea Drinking!
