In honor of Thanksgiving this week, here are five things I am thankful for.
- Earl Grey Tea. This afternoon, I edited our recent podcast while sipping on some Earl Grey Tea, and it honestly made the afternoon and editing so much more enjoyable. It made work cozy, and I’m always down to make something cozy.
- Teachers. They work hard so our kids succeed. We just had our conference for Quinn, and although I’m so proud of Quinn and all her hard work and excellent scores, her teacher was fantastic. She really wants Quinn to love school (which she does), and she doesn’t want her to be bored when she finishes her work (which she isn’t). Quinn has always loved school, but especially this year with her teacher. Her teacher gives her opportunities to do “extra” when she’s done with her work. It’s called Genius Hour, and it’s designed for students to have time to research topics they are interested in and then present a report to the class. She loves it and has reported on four different animals this year.
- Home. My jet lag is gone. I feel human again, and I love being home. Not only do I love being home, but I love being home with my whole family. This past month I went on two trips and Jordan went on a work trip. It’s nice to be all together, playing games, and watching The Amazing Race. Additionally, I set up all our Christmas decorations for the season before Thanksgiving, and I honestly love how magical the house feels. Twinkly lights everywhere.
- Cloudle. A cool idea that became a reality recently. As I package up new shipments, it fills me with excitement for the people who will receive these books and use them to grow their creativity. A sweet spot in my life is when I can sit and be creative. Jordan and I are happy to share this with the world, and we hope it sparks creativity and helps slow you down this holiday season.
- The Holy Spirit’s Voice. Without it, I’m lost and with it, I’m at peace. He is always speaking but am I always listening? Listening to His voice has become such an important part of everyday life. I’m excited to continue in this practice.
